Dental Crowns

Crowns, also called Caps, are placed when a tooth is damaged from decay, misshapen, or badly broken. Crowns can be made of gold, porcelain, or porcelain fused to semi-precious metals. Dr. Turner is one of the few dentists in Georgia using this state of the art material.

The first visit involves the removal of decay, the prepping of the tooth, an impression is taken to send to the lab for fabrication of the crown. A temporary crown is placed until the permanent crown is received back from the lab in approximately 3 weeks.

On the second visit, the temporary crown is removed and the permanent crown is cemented.
