Biolase Laser Dentistry

Our Biolase dental laser lets us perform a range of procedures with a focused beam of light energy instead of a blade. Because the laser cuts and seals tissue at the same time, treatment on the gums typically involves less bleeding, fewer sutures, and a shorter, more comfortable recovery than the traditional surgical approach.

At Pine Mountain Dental Care, we use the laser for soft-tissue work such as reshaping the gumline before veneers or crowns, treating areas of gum inflammation, uncovering implants, and releasing a restrictive frenum. It is also useful in periodontal therapy, where it helps disinfect the pocket around a tooth as part of a broader treatment plan.

Laser treatment is not a replacement for every procedure, and we are straightforward with patients about when it is the better tool and when it is not. Where it does apply, most patients need less anesthetic and describe the experience as noticeably easier than they expected. It is one more piece of technology that lets us keep advanced care in house and keep our patients comfortable.
